Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in the third definitive portrait modelled by Raphael David Maklouf, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The legend BERMUDA curves along the left rim and ELIZABETH II along the right rim. The engraver's initials RDM appear on the truncation of the bust. The portrait is set against a plain field.

Reverse description A White-tailed Tropicbird (Phaethon lepturus), known locally in Bermuda as the Longtail, depicted in full flight with wings spread and elongated tail streamers trailing behind. The denomination TWENTY-FIVE CENTS is inscribed along the lower portion of the design, with the date appearing in the lower field. The bird is shown in fine relief against a plain field, with design elements by engraver Michael Rizzello.
