| Reverse description | The reverse features a boldly rendered bust of a woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou) facing left, its impressive antlers dominating the upper field. The denomination 25 CENTS is inscribed in two lines at the centre of the field between the antlers. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, and the date appears vertically along the right field. The mint mark H (for the Heaton Mint engraver attribution in earlier issues, here used on some varieties) appears below the caribou's neck, and a border of small denticles encircles the design. |
