| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Belize is centrally depicted, supported by two figures of mestizo woodcutters standing at either side of the quartered shield, which bears tools and a sailing vessel in its quarters beneath a mahogany tree above. The motto ribbon inscribed SUB UMBRA FLOREO appears at the base of the arms. The entire device is encircled by a wreath of laurel branches, with the legend BELIZE arching across the upper field and the date 1985 positioned in the lower field. A beaded border runs continuously around the rim. |
