| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing crossed tools above a sailing vessel, flanked by two woodcutters serving as supporters, each resting a hand on the shield while shouldering an axe or paddle. A mahogany tree rises above the shield as the crest. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto legend SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The entire arms device is encircled by an open wreath of olive branches. The country name BELIZE arcs along the upper legend, the date 1982 appears in the lower field, and a continuous beaded border frames the design. |
