Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield supported by two woodcutters standing at either side, each bearing tools of the timber trade. Above the shield rises a mahogany tree, and the entire composition is encircled by an ornamental wreath of olive branches. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in the obverse lettering. The legend 'BELIZE' arcs along the upper rim and the date '1984' is positioned in the lower field, all within a continuous beaded border.
