| Obverse description | The obverse features the national emblem of Sri Lanka prominently displayed in the central field: a golden lion passant holding a sword in its right forepaw, set upon a crimson background within a roundel encircled by a stylised lotus petal border. Flanking the central roundel are two lotus flowers at the base, with a Dhamma Chakra (Wheel of the Law) at each upper corner. Below the central device, a decorative sun-and-waves motif rests upon a stepped plinth, with a traditional oil lamp (Purnakumbha) at the base centre. The entire composition is rendered in high relief against a smooth field, consistent with the official state arms of Sri Lanka. |
