| Obverse description | The Maltese coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a coastal scene incorporating the rising sun, a traditional Maltese fishing boat (luzzu), a shovel and pitchfork crossed in saltire, and an Opuntia cactus plant. The arms are rendered in fine relief against a plain field. The legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1975 positioned at the lower portion of the legend, all in Latin script. |
