Obverse description The national coat of arms of Suriname occupies the central field, supported on either side by two indigenous figures. The shield is divided into quarters and flanked by the two native supporters standing on a decorative base. The whole is encircled by a wreath of laurel. The national motto and country name appear as a legend along the lower arc, reading JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES and SURINAME.
