| Obverse description | The arms of the British North Borneo Chartered Company depicted centrally, featuring a shield quartered with a lion passant and a sailing vessel on wavy water, surmounted by a crest comprising a demi-lion holding a flag charged with a further lion. The shield is supported on either side by standing male figures in traditional Bornean warrior attire, the dexter supporter holding a shield and the sinister a spear. Below the shield, a scrolled ribbon cartouche bears the Latin motto PERGO ET PERAGO. The entire device is contained within a beaded border. |
