Reverse description
The coin reproduces the iconic motif of the 25-cent circulation coin issued in 1967, created by Canadian artist Alex Colville: a bobcat in motion seen from the side. The silhouette of the wild feline is quite remarkable, thanks to the precision of the engraving that renders the texture of the fur, especially the longer hairs of its ruff. The motif is enhanced by selective gold plating applied to the bobcat and the coin`s bead. Also engraved on the reverse are the face value `25 CENTS`, the word `CANADA` and the commemorative dates `1867-2017`.
