Torredelcampo is a small olive-growing municipality in Jaén province, Andalusia. During the early months of the Spanish Civil War, the Republican zone suffered an acute shortage of small-denomination coinage — the Republic's fractional silver and copper had vanished from circulation almost immediately after the July 1936 uprising. Hundreds of Spanish municipalities responded by issuing their own emergency paper, locally printed and valid only within their own administrative boundaries. Torredelcampo's 25 céntimos belongs to this wave.
The Garrió Morales catalog reference remains unassigned, which typically indicates either a very recent attribution or a note known from only one or two surviving specimens.
