Molinicos is a small municipality in the Sierra de Alcaraz, Albacete province. Like hundreds of similarly sized Spanish towns, it issued fractional paper currency during the Civil War period to address the acute shortage of small coinage — Republican authorities had effectively disappeared centavo and peseta coinage from circulation by mid-1936 through hoarding and melting.
The Gari Mon reference is unassigned, suggesting this piece either escaped systematic cataloging or surfaced after the relevant fascicle was compiled. Municipal emergency issues from villages of this size rarely appear in quantity; print runs were small, local redemption was inconsistent, and survival depended largely on chance.
