Comments

Minglanilla is a small municipality in Cuenca province, Castile–La Mancha, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its Republican ayuntamiento issued fractional emergency scrip when small coin effectively vanished from circulation after 1936. The Gari Mon cataloguing of these local emissions is the standard reference, but many Minglanilla pieces remain poorly documented in terms of exact print runs or issuing dates.

The thick card or pasteboard construction is characteristic of municipalities that lacked access to proper banknote paper and improvised with whatever a local printer had in stock.
