Floreal del Raspeig was a small municipality in the province of Alicante, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, it resorted to issuing its own emergency fractional currency when the Republic's small-denomination coinage disappeared almost entirely from circulation in 1936–37. Hoarding, melting, and wartime disruption had stripped the monetary system of its copper and nickel, leaving communities to improvise with locally printed paper.
Gari Mon #652-A places this squarely within the vast documented corpus of Valencian Community emergency issues, though survival rates for these village-level emissions vary enormously — many were printed in very small runs and redeemed locally before the war ended.
