Candasnos is a small municipality in the province of Huesca, Aragon, and this 25 céntimos note is a product of the fractional currency crisis that swept Republican Spain from 1936 onward. When the Civil War disrupted normal coin supply, thousands of Spanish municipalities issued their own emergency paper — consejo municipal notes like this one were often produced locally with whatever printing resources were available, which typically meant rudimentary typography and a hand-applied official stamp as the only security measure.

The Gari Montalvo catalog remains the primary reference for Aragonese municipal issues, and #432-G places this firmly within a well-documented but numerically scarce series.
