Albocácer is a small municipality in the Castellón province of Valencia, and like hundreds of similar towns across Republican-held Spain, it issued its own emergency fractional currency during 1937 as the Civil War choked off the supply of small coins. The Generalitat de Catalunya and the Valencia regional government both sanctioned local scrip to fill the vacuum, but the quality and survival rates vary enormously from town to town.
At roughly 50 × 48 mm, this note is nearly square — an unusual proportion that likely reflects whatever card stock the local authority had to hand rather than any deliberate design choice. Gari Mon#58-A suggests a single known type for this denomination from Albocácer, which points to a short and probably low-volume issue.
