| Obverse description | Central round perforation flanked by the large interlaced monogram 'RF' (République Française), rendered in bold relief against a plain field. A Phrygian liberty cap surmounts the monogram above the hole, its profile facing left with finely engraved detail. The entire design is encircled by a wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the base, with the engraver's signature EM LINDAUER incuse along the lower rim within the wreath.
