| Obverse description | Central field features a three-stringed lyre (kinor), a ancient Israelite instrument depicted in a stylized form inspired by ancient Jewish coinage. The lyre is rendered with bold, clean lines characteristic of the Shamir brothers' modernist design aesthetic. To the left of the lyre, the Hebrew word ISRAEL (ישראל) appears in an archaic Hebrew script running vertically, while the Arabic inscription ISRAEL (اسرائيل) appears along the upper periphery. A Star of David (Magen David) privy mark is present, identifying this piece as a year-set issue. |
