| Obverse description | At centre, the emblem of the Bank of Russia — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is surrounded by a semicircular legend above reading «ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ» (TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND ROUBLES) and the inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) in a semicircle below the eagle. The date «2009 г.» appears beneath the central emblem.
