| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Senegal occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with a rampant lion to the left and a baobab tree to the right, encircled by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a five-pointed star. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms bears the national motto in two parts, flanking the shield. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE DU SÉNÉGAL arcs along the upper periphery, accompanied by four five-pointed stars evenly spaced around the field.
