Reverse description The reverse features a bold central inscription in three lines within a plain inner circle: POVR in the upper register, the Roman numeral XXIIII in the centre, and SOL in the lower register, together expressing the denomination of 24 sols. The surrounding peripheral legend, separated by star and cross stops, carries the Calvinist Reformation motto POST TENEBRAS LVX (After Darkness, Light), with the Bern mint mark letter B prominently placed at the top of the legend. A beaded outer border frames the entire composition.
