Obverse description Central device depicts a wild man (Wilder Mann), the heraldic supporter of Brunswick, standing facing and holding an uprooted tree branch in each hand. The numeral '24' appears to the lower left of the figure, indicating the denomination. The circumferential legend in Latin, separated by stops, reads the abbreviated titles of the joint rulers Rudolf August and Anton Ulrich, Dukes of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The overall style is characteristic of late 17th-century German baroque coinage.
