Obverse description Central field displays the denomination '24' above the inscription 'MARIEN / GROSCH:' in three lines, followed by 'FEIN SILBER' and the mintmaster initials 'I.A.B.' below. The date 1734 appears at the top of the circular legend, which reads 'D.G.LVDOVICVS.RVDOLPHVS.DVX.BR.&LVN.' in Latin around the full periphery. The lettering is crisp and boldly struck in the Germanic baroque style typical of early eighteenth-century Lower Saxon coinage.
