A small angel or imperial orb appears above the shield. The surrounding circular legend is rendered in Latin characters. The overall design is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage, with bold relief and decorative cartouche work framing the central arms.

Reverse description Central multi-fold electoral arms of Saxony displayed within an ornate baroque cartouche, supported by two rampant lions as shield-holders on either side. A small crowned orb bearing the value numeral Z4 (24) is positioned at the top of the field within the legend. The date appears above the central arms. The peripheral Latin legend encircles the entire design within a beaded border, consistent with the Kipper und Wipper coinage style of the period.
