Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Empress Elizabeth I, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a small crown or kokoshnik, rendered in high relief with fine detail. The effigy is truncated at the shoulder and positioned centrally within the coin's field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait along the inner edge of the border. The overall style reflects mid-18th century Imperial Russian portraiture, characteristic of St. Petersburg Mint engraving practice.
