Obverse description An abstract, stylized cast bronze relief in the form of a crenellated fortress or battlement shape. The field is densely populated with schematic figures of armed partisans, flags, weapons, and symbolic motifs rendered in a bold modernist relief style, evoking the armed uprising of 22 June 1941.

Reverse description The reverse displays the same crenellated irregular form. The upper left merlon bears a hammer and sickle emblem, the upper right a five-pointed star.
