Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in a naturalistic Hellenistic-influenced style typical of Sicilian provincial coinage. The portrait displays fine facial detail with a pronounced brow and strong jaw. The Greek legend ΠΑΝΟΡΜΙΤΑΝ (of the Panormites) encircles the effigy, reading around the periphery of the flan. The field is plain, and the coin exhibits the irregular, hand-struck flan characteristic of local bronze issues of this period.
