Reverse description The Geneva Reformation motto POST TENEBRAS LUX (After Darkness, Light) is inscribed in three lines across the center of an ornate Baroque cartouche with scrollwork and foliate decoration. A cherub head with flanking scrolls and trefoil ornaments adorns the upper portion of the cartouche. At the apex of the design, a radiant sun enclosing the Christogram IHS radiates rays across the upper field. The denomination numeral 21 appears at the base of the cartouche within a scrolled frame.
