| Obverse description | Bare head of Artemis facing right, wearing a stephane or close-fitting helmet with pronounced ridge, her hair rendered in fine parallel striations swept back from the forehead. The bust is set within a beaded border that follows the irregular flan. The portrait is rendered in a Hellenistic style consistent with Cnossian civic coinage of the late Republican period. |
