Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in a somewhat crude provincial style typical of Ostrogothic coinage. The effigy displays a pearl diadem and simplified drapery across the shoulder. The surrounding legend reads IVSTI-NIANI, invoking the Byzantine emperor in whose name this issue was struck. The portrait occupies the central field with minimal articulation of facial features, consistent with the degenerate die-cutting of the period. The flan is irregular and small, characteristic of these fractional bronze emissions from the Roman mint under Ostrogothic administration.
Obverse script Latin

Reverse description Monogram of Theoderic or Athalaric enclosed within a laurel wreath border, centrally placed in the field. The monogram is composed of interlaced letters in a distinctive Ostrogothic style, rendered with relatively coarse engraving. No legend or exergual inscription is present. The wreath border, formed of beaded or leaf elements, frames the device on all sides. The overall design reflects the Ostrogothic practice of combining Roman coin conventions with Germanic royal symbols on small fractional bronze issues.
