Raimund Anton von Strasoldo served as Prince-Bishop of Eichstätt from 1757 until his death in 1781, presiding over one of the smaller ecclesiastical territories of the Holy Roman Empire during a period when many such bishoprics were under sustained pressure from secularizing reformers — particularly from Vienna under Joseph II. The billon coinage of these minor German ecclesiastical states was chronically debased by mid-century, with the Kreuzer denominations bearing the worst of it as silver content was quietly reduced to meet fiscal shortfalls.
Eichstätt's minting activity was intermittent, making dated issues from specific years within Strasoldo's reign genuinely scarce rather than artificially so.
