Obverse description Central device consisting of the crowned Baden-Durlach arms — a shield bearing the diagonal stripe of Baden within a baroque cartouche — flanked by two symmetrical laurel branches tied at the base. The crowned shield is rendered in fine relief against a flat field. A circular legend encircles the entire design, reading the fineness and justification standard inscription. The coin border is decorated with a continuous reeded or milled edge pattern.
