Obverse description Five-line inscription reading HOHENLOHE / WALDENBURG / CONVENT. / 2½ Kr / 1770 arranged within an ornamental cartouche formed by two palm or laurel branches, surmounted by a decorative scroll or foliate ornament. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The lettering is in a clear serif typeface characteristic of late 18th-century German coinage.

Reverse description A phoenix with wings displayed rising from a nest of flames and faggots, rendered in fine detail with spread wings and head turned to the right. The circumferential legend EX FLAMMIS ORIOR (I rise from the flames) encircles the device, referencing the phoenix's mythological rebirth. The mint mark S·N·R· appears in the exergue below the nest. The coin is enclosed within a beaded border.
