Obverse description Central field dominated by the Seal of Solomon (six-pointed star) enclosed within a circular border, surrounded by a circular band of Arabic legends giving the Sultan's name and titles. The central motif is framed by an elaborate interlaced geometric and floral arabesque design filling the entire field, with additional Arabic inscriptions occupying the four principal lobes of the decorative border. The overall composition is characteristic of late 19th-century Sharifian coinage, combining traditional Islamic geometric ornament with official titulature.
