| Obverse description | Central circular cartouche containing the Sharifian star and Arabic inscription in multiple lines, identifying the Sultan Abd al-Aziz and the mint authority. The cartouche is enclosed by a raised circular border, surrounded by an outer band of flowing Arabic legends arranged around the full circumference of the coin. The design is executed in relief on a flat field, consistent with the French-struck Moroccan coinage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. |
