(Translation: Hussein bin (son of) Talal King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan)
Reverse description A Rhim gazelle (Gazella leptoceros) rendered in fine relief, depicted in a recumbent pose facing left with its distinctive long curved horns prominent. The legend THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN curves along the upper periphery in Latin script. In the lower exergue, the Gregorian year 1977 and the Hijri year 1397 appear centrally flanked by the denomination 2½ دينار in Arabic script to the right and 2½ DINARS in Latin script to the lower left. A beaded border frames the entire design.
