| Obverse description | Central field features the Dutch Royal coat of arms — a crowned shield bearing the rampant lion of Nassau armed with sword and arrows — flanked by the date 19-08 divided at either side of the shield. The denomination '2 1/2 CENT.' is inscribed in the lower portion of the field. The circular legend 'NEDERLANDSCH INDIE.' arcs across the upper periphery, all enclosed within a beaded inner border. The overall design is rendered in high relief consistent with a presentation or pattern striking. |
