| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the British North Borneo Chartered Company displayed centrally in the field, featuring a shield bearing a sailing vessel on waves, surmounted by a heraldic lion passant atop a crested helm, the whole topped by a flagpole flying a flag charged with a further lion. Two indigenous Bornean warrior figures serve as supporters, standing on a decorative scroll base, each holding a traditional weapon — the dexter supporter holding a large shield and the sinister supporter holding a spear. Below the shield, a flowing ribbon cartouche bears the motto legend PERGO ET PERAGO. The mintmark H appears at the base of the design. |
