Obverse description The crowned coat of arms of Luxembourg occupies the central field, depicting a rampant lion with a forked tail facing left on a barry field of ten pieces. The armorial shield is surrounded by an inner circle, with the legend GRAND DUCHÉ DU LUXEMBOURG disposed between the inner circle and an outer beaded border. A small star appears at the base of the design, flanked by the privy mark and mint mark.
