Obverse description Central device depicting a striding lion facing right, rendered in the traditional South Indian style, with a curling mane and raised forepaw. The figure is set within a circular field bordered by a beaded or rope-like rim. The overall design is characteristic of Mysore princely coinage of the early nineteenth century, with bold, somewhat crude relief typical of the period.
