Obverse description The Polish state eagle displayed in the centre of the field, with wings spread, crowned, and facing right in the heraldic manner characteristic of the Polish People's Republic coinage. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the upper periphery, flanked by decorative dots. The mint year 1980 appears in two parts flanking the eagle's lower body, with the MW mint mark below, and the denomination 2000 ZŁ is prominently rendered in large numerals across the lower portion of the field.
