| Obverse description | Centered in the field is the crowned Polish eagle displayed, wings raised, rendered in high relief with detailed feathering characteristic of the People's Republic heraldic style. The date 1980 appears divided to either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark below. The denomination ZŁ 2000 ZŁ is inscribed in large characters along the lower rim.
