Issued to mark South Korea's hosting of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, this commemorative falls within a long Bank of Korea tradition of purpose-printed collector notes that see almost no genuine circulation. The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, which handles the country's standard currency production at its Daejeon facility, produced this on the same cotton substrate used for regular-issue won notes — an unusual choice for a commemorative, since many issuers opt for polymer or foil-heavy stock to signal the special status more visually.

Pick 58 is straightforward to find in uncirculated condition; most examples went directly into collector packaging at point of sale.
