Obverse description Two highly detailed Chinese imperial dragons rendered in high relief occupy the central field, their sinuous scaled bodies intertwined as they face one another across a central flaming pearl. The legend '2000 SHILLINGS' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals, while 'BANK OF UGANDA' is inscribed along the lower border, flanked at centre by the Ugandan state arms. Two raised dots serve as separators on either side of the inner circle.

Additional information

Uganda's commemorative silver program of the early 2000s was largely contract-struck by European mints for the collector export market, with little connection to domestic monetary circulation. KM#186 belongs to a "Wealth" themed series issued under the Bank of Uganda's name but designed and distributed primarily through European coin wholesalers — a common arrangement for smaller nations generating hard currency revenue through numismatic licensing.
