| Obverse description | The central field displays the complete Coat of Arms of Uganda, featuring a shield charged with a sun and traditional drum, supported by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with a representation of the River Nile in the base and a scroll bearing the national motto. The legend 'BANK OF UGANDA' arcs along the upper periphery, while '2000 SHILLINGS' curves along the lower periphery.
