Obverse description The obverse features the coat of arms of Uganda at center, depicting a shield supported by a kob antelope to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with a representation of the River Nile and the sun above the shield. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the denomination 2000 SHILLINGS is inscribed along the lower rim. The date 2006 is divided on either side of the central device in the field. The design follows the standard national arms motif used on Ugandan coinage.

Additional information

Part of Uganda's early-2000s wave of celebrity and sports-themed legal tender issues, this coin was produced to capitalize on Nedvěd's 2003 Ballon d'Or — the peak of a career built largely at Juventus following his 2001 transfer from Lazio. Uganda had no meaningful connection to Czech football; these were straightforward numismatic-market products sold to collectors, never intended to circulate in Kampala.
