| Obverse description | The obverse features the coat of arms of Uganda centrally positioned in the field, depicting a shield supported by two kob antelopes flanking a crested crane, with a drum at the base and a sun motif at the centre of the shield. Uganda issued a series of Swiss landmark commemoratives in the mid-1990s, a peculiar arrangement driven by European bullion dealers who contracted with smaller nations to produce licensed collector pieces for the Swiss tourism market. The Jungfraujoch — the high-altitude rail terminus in the Bernese Alps, sitting at 3,454 meters — was a commercially reliable subject, and several African issuing authorities appeared on similar pieces during this period for exactly that reason.
KM# 65 is one of several Uganda-issued Swiss subjects from 1996, all sharing the same weight and fineness.
