Uganda's commemorative program in the mid-2000s produced a wave of silver-plated issues honoring foreign football personalities — Adamec among them. A Czechoslovak midfielder and later manager, Adamec led the national side during qualifying for the 1990 World Cup, where Czechoslovakia reached the quarterfinals before falling to West Germany. His inclusion in a Ugandan commemorative series had nothing to do with any connection to East Africa; these were frankly commercial issues sold into the European collector market through licensed distribution arrangements.
Silver-plated copper-nickel strikes from this program are prone to surface delamination at the plating layer over time.
