Additional information

Josef Masopust won the Ballon d'Or in 1962 — the only Czechoslovak player ever to do so — after leading Dukla Prague to domestic dominance throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s. His inclusion in a Ugandan commemorative series reflects the sprawling, editorially loose "football legends" coin programs that flooded the market in the mid-2000s, produced largely for collector sale rather than any circulation purpose. Uganda's name on the obverse was essentially a licensing arrangement.
