| Obverse description | The coat of arms of Uganda occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by a kob antelope to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, with crossed spears behind the shield and a scroll at the base bearing the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY. The legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by a beaded border, with the date 2005 divided on either side of the central device and the denomination 2000 SHILLINGS inscribed along the lower periphery.
